school lunch

The goal of the Child Nutrition Program is to provide healthy, well balanced meals for all students.

The school lunch program is the best bargain in Robeson County. The meal prices are: Breakfast $.75 full price, $.30 reduced price, Adults $1.00. Lunch full price $1.60 high school, $1.50 elementary and $.40 reduced price and Adults $3.00.

Students who cannot afford these prices may apply for free meals. Federal regulations require the child nutrition program to operate on a non-profit basis insuring students receive the maximum benefits from the program.

Our goal is to provide meals low in fat, cholesterol and sodium while striving to increase whole grain, vitamins A, C, D and fiber as well as other important nutrients.

Nutrition Education is an important function of the Child Nutrition Program. The Child Nutrition Managers are constantly involved with their school to provide important nutrition information to the teachers and students. They cooperate during special theme days and holidays to get the nutrition information out.

Free and Reduced Meals

Free meals and reduced price meals are available at all schools. All Robeson County children who received these meals are covered on the application on file from last year for the first 10 days of the new school year. It is the parent's responsibility to reapply during this 10-day period or the child will go to a paid status. We encourage families that are approved for Free or Reduced Price meals to eat breakfast daily and order bag lunches through the cafeteria on field trip days or other school outings. Free and Reduced price meal status can apply for at any time during the year including short-term family hardship.
