This morning, Governor Roy Cooper declared a State of Emergency for the state ahead of Hurricane Michael’s arrival. Hurricane Michael made landfall in Florida as a category 4 hurricane this afternoon. It is predicted to move in a northeast direction. North Carolina Emergency Management and the National Weather Service both report that southeastern North Carolina is east of the track and inland areas are expected to receive 4-5 inches of rain with 45-50 mph wind gusts. Currently, the tornado threat has increased for Robeson County.
