    The United Tribes is awarded annually. 
    1. Applicants must be American Indian and enrolled in a state or federally recognized tribe in the state of North Carolina.
    2. Applicant must be an incoming freshman enrolling in a two or four year college or university, and/or freshman, sophomores, juniors, or seniors who are enrolled and still attending a two-year or four-year college or university.
    3. Applicants must be enrolled as a full-time student.
    See Ms. Dee Oxendine, YDS for application.  The deadline for turning in applications is Friday, February 17, 2014 by 5:00 p.m.

    Scholarships are available in the counseling center.  Please check on counseling website to access these scholarships.  Students can come by my office for more information.  Also, you can check on fastweb.com.

  • Gates Millennium Scholarship

    Nominations are now being accepted for the Gates MIllennium Scholarship.
     
    The Bill and Melinda Gates Millennium Scholars is a scholarship program funded by a one billion dollar grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.  The grant is a twenty year commitment designed to fund the college education of twenty thousand high achieving, underrepresented minority students.  This program is also designed to help develop a group of leaders that represent the ethnic diversity of America in the 21st century.
     
    The application deadline is  January 17, 2014 by 11:59 p.m. (deadline) each academic year.
     
    Eligibility
     
    • Are American Indian/Alaska Native, African American, Asian & Pacific Islander American, or Hispanic American.
    • Are a citizen, national, or legal permanent resident of the United States.
    • Have attained a cumulative high school GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted) or have earned a GED.
    • Will be enrolling for the first time at a US accredited college or university as a full time, degree-seeking, first year student in fall.
    • Have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular or other activities.
    • Meet the federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria.
    • Have completed and submitted all three required forms (Nominee Personal Information Form, Nominator Form, and Recommender Form) by the deadline.
