Science is devoted to the study of living things and their processes. Throughout the year this class provides an opportunity for students to develop scientific process skills, laboratory techniques, and an understanding of the fundamental principles of living organisms. Students will explore science as a process, Matter: Properties an change, Energy: Conservation and Transfer, Earth Systems, Structures and Processes, Earth History, Structure and Function of Living Organisms, Ecosystems, Evolution and Genetics, and Molecular Biology.

Welcome to Science.  This is going to be a very challenging class and I hope you are up for the challenge.  I am here to make this a successful learning experience for you.  I want you to be successful.  The topics we will be covering in Science are as follows:

    ·      Physical Science: includes concepts related to the properties ad changes of matter, forms of energy, energy transfer and conservation, position and motion of objects and forces affecting motion.

    ·      Life Science: includes concepts related to organization and development, matter and energy transformation, interdependence, heredity and reproduction, and evolution and diversity.

    ·      Earth and Space Science: includes concepts related to objects in the universe, the history of Earth, properties of Earth materials, tectonics, energy in the Earth systems, climate, weather and biochemical cycles.
