Welcome to 3rd grade. I am so excited to have you in my class this year. I am looking forward to year filled with lots of new adventures and educational journeys.
Let me tell you a little about myself. First of all, I grew up in Rowland, North Carolina. My family and I spent ten years in Dhaharan, Saudi Arabia where I made a lot of friends from all over the world with very different cultures and even different religions. I attended the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where I majored in Elementary Education and graduated in December 2003. I got my first teaching job at Orrum Middle School where I taught 6th grade. I then moved to Prospect Elementary School where I taught 5th grade and then 4th grade. I began teaching at Long Branch Elementary in August 2010 and taught 1st grade for 3 years and then 4th grade for 1 year. This is my third year at Tanglewood, I taught second grade and then looped to third with my class. This is my third year teaching 3rd grade. That means I have now taught every grade between 1st and 6th grade.
My husband and I have one son, Micah, on February 5th 2011. We are also the proud parents of a 8 year old Yorkshire Terrier named Buster. I received my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University of Portland in June 2016.
If you have any questions or concerns, or would just like to stop by and volunteer please feel welcome to do so.
