    The Belk Scholarship recognizes and rewards students who demonstrate

    Voice of Democracy Program
     Since 1947, the Voice of Democracy has been the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ (VFW’s)                                                                                                                           premier scholarship program. Each year, more than 50,000 high school students                                                                                                                         compete for more than $2.3 million in scholarships.Student’s grades (9-12) compete                                                                                                                          by writing and recording a broadcast script on an annual patriotic theme. Prizes                                                                                                                                  and scholarships are awarded at the
    local, district, state and national  level.  

    NC StateUniversity (College of Textiles)
    The 15th annual Centennial Scholarship competition for top students interested
    in NC State University is underway.This program is for students interested
    in the fields such as engineering, business management, chemistry, polymer
    chemistry, forensics management… as these are the focus areas within the
    internationally known textile programs at NC State.  Ten $47,500
    scholarships will be awarded to freshmen entering the College of
    Textiles each year. 
     Each Centennial Scholar will have access to a

    Coca-Cola Scholars Program
    In 1986 Coca-Cola paid tribute to communities across the country by establishing a scholarship
    program to support higher education. The Foundation annually awards 200 regionally
    scholarships of $10,000 and 50 National Scholarships of $20,000. The Coca-Cola Scholars
    foundation evaluates applicants on the basis of leadership skills, extracurricular activities and

    2015 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards
    The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards recognize students in
    middle and high school grades who have demonstrated
    exemplary community service. Interested students may complete

    applications and select Local Honorees. The most deserving
    applicants will be recognized with the President's Volunteer
    Service Award (If he or she has contributed the

    Stokes Educational Scholarship Program

    The Stokes Program is open to high school seniors, particularly minority
    students, planning to major in computer science or computer/electrical
    engineering.  Qualifications for high school seniors:  You must be 
    a U.S. citizen, You must be eligible to be granted a security clearance,
    You must be a high school senior at the time of application,
    You must have a minimum SAT/college board score of 1600

    (1100 critical reading and math, 500 writing) or ACT of 25,
    You must be planning to major in computer science or computer/electrical
    engineering, Have a 3.0 GPA or above on a 4.0 scale preferred,

    and you must submit your application between September 1

    Burger King Scholars Program
    Burger King Scholars Program grants range from $1000
    to $50,000 to assist students with the cost of attending
    college or post secondary vocational/technical school.
    Applicants must be an employee of Burger King
    Corp., a spouse of an employee or be a dependent
    child of an employee of Burger King.  Recipients are
    selected based on GPA (2.0 or higher), work
    experience, extracurricular activities and/or community

     Foot Locker Scholar Athletes Program
     This program honors athletes for demonstrating excellence
    in school, on their sports team, and in their communities.
    20 winners will receive $20,000 for college. Applicants must
    be currently involved in high school sports, intramural sports,
    or community based sports. Student must plan to
    attend a four year college or university in the fall of 2015,
    have a GPA of 3.0, and be a US citizen or legal resident,

     Ronald McDonald House Charities US Scholarship Program
    Ronald McDonald House Charities and its local Chapters are
    offering a scholarship to seniors.  Applicants must be a
    current high school
    senior who is eligible to attend
    a two or four year college, university,
    or vocational/technical school.  You must be a
    legal US resident with a 2.7 GPA. Employment at

    This scholarship is valued at $180,000 over a 4 year period, includes
    tuition, books ($750 per year) plus instructional and lab fees.
    This program offers students the opportunity to earn a degree
    and valuable leadership skills. Applicants must meet SAT or ACT
    criteria or be in the top 10% of your class to qualify.
    A student's commitment to the Navy does not begin until the
    beginning of their sophomore year.

    Jagannathan Scholarship

    The Jagannathan Scholarship is given to a graduating high school senior
    planning to attend one of the constituent institutions of the University of
    North Carolina. The recipient must be a North Carolina resident, have
    financial need, outstanding academic achievement, and leadership qualities.
    Eligible students must be nominated by their guidance counselor. The application
    for the Jagannathan Scholarship will be available on the CFNC website 

    at CFNC.org/jag. The 2014-15 academic year award
    is $2,000; non-renewable.

    Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship 
    Scholarship founded by the N.C. Association of Educators Minority
    Affairs Committee for NC residents enrolled in a high school program in their
    senior year in high school.  Selection criteria involves character, personality,
    and scholastic achievement of the applicant.  Application can be accessed @
    The Atkinson Scholarship Program:
    The Atkinson Scholarship Program was established in 1995 to recognize local
    high school seniors with financial need, academic promise and the capacity to make a
    meaningful contribution to society.  Scholarship is worth $5,000 per year.
    The Florence Kidder Memorial Scholarship
    The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the State of
    North Carolina will award a scholarship of $3,000 and a runner-up of
    $1,000 to two North Carolina senior high school students to be used at
    any NC college or university.  The scholarship recipients will be selected
    on the basis of character, need,  scholastic record as well as the relative
    merit of  submitted essay.   

     Corvias Foundation
    Attention!!! Seniors with a parent that is an active duty Service

    Fort Polk, Fort Rucker, Fort Riley, Fort Sill or Aberdeen Proving

     Matthew C. Graziadei Achievement Award
    This award is presented annually by The Exceptional Children's
    Assistance Center (ECAC), to a North Carolina high school
    senior with a disability who best exemplifies the characteristics
    of Matthew Graziadei.  The award includes $1,000 scholarship
    to be used for any post high school learning experience/training
    or for equipment/technology needed for employment. 

     The 7th Annual Create-A-Greeting-Card Scholarship Contest
    Students will have a chance to win a  $10,000 Scholarship for themselves
    or a $1,000 award for their school.  Students must submit a unique
     photo, piece of artwork or computer graphic for the front of a greeting
    card.  The student with the best design will win the scholarship and 
    have his/her design made into an actual card to be sold in their line.


     The United Tribes of North Carolina  Scholarship Award


    *Applicants must be American Indian residing in North Carolina and
    enrolled in a state or federally recognized tribe.

    Applicants must be an incoming freshman enrolling in a two or four year college or university.

    *Applicants must be enrolled as full-time students.



    March Deadlines:




    The Golden LEAF Scholarship is valued at $!2,000 

    ($3,000 per year for up to four years).  Priority for scholarships 
     will be given to students from families adversely affected
    by the decline of the tobacco industry.  Students must submit

    the FAFSA to be considered for this scholarship.    


     North Carolina State USBC Association, Inc. Youth Scholarship


     A.  The scholarship is provided by the N.C. State Bowling
          Congress Association, Inc. (a non-profit organization 
     B. The amount of the scholarship is $2,000
     C. The scholarship can be applied to any recognized
          college, university or trade school.
     D. Approved scholarships are deposited in the approved
          fund governed by the (USBC) 
    A. Any senior student in a N.C. high school prior
         to the age of 22

     Lumber River Electric Membership Corporation Scholarship

    Each year, we award six local high school seniors more than $40,000 in educational

    assistance as part of our scholarship program.  The Lucy Smith, John S. O'Briant,

    Thomas Wade Bethea and Elias Rogers scholarships are for students planning to

    attend a four-college or university. Each scholarship is valued at $8,000.  The 

     J.W. Hunt scholarship is for a student planning to attend a four year college 

    pursuing a agribusiness degree valued at $8,000.  Also, one $2,000 scholarship

    for an individual planning to attend a two-year college or technical school.  
    You must be a senior whose parents or guardians are members

    of LREMC.  



    Cape Fear Farm Credit Scholarship

    NC Association of Educational Office Professionals (NCAEOP)
    Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic achievement
    initiative and financial need.  Must be a U.S. citizen; be a graduating
    high school senior or who has applied for admission in a post high
    or freshman in a post-high program.  
    Amount of scholarship is $1,200. 
    Lumbee Guaranty Bank  Scholarship Program

    Applicants must be high school seniors who plan to enroll in a
    full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two or
    four-year college, universtiy or technical-vocational school in the
    fall following graduation. Scholarship award of $1,000 that 
    may be renewed at the same amount for an additional three
     years by maintaininga 2.0 GPA or higher. Interested  students
     must complete an application.

     Pembroke Business and Professional Women's
     The Grace Epps Memorial Scholarship  provides $250 to a high school
      female student who exemplifies character, leadership, academic success
     and community involvement.  Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

    Offer for high school seniors to win a scholarship to help further

     April Deadlines:
    The North Carolina Federation of Republican Women (NCFRW) is 
    offering a merit based scholarship, "Caring for America", to assist
    children of North Carolina service members desiring to pursue a degree
    (or vocational certification from an accredited North Carolina college,
    vocational or technical institution. $1,000 will be awarded to a dependent
    child of an active duty NC service member who was wounded or killed while
    serving in a combat zone from September 11, 2001 until present. Service
    member can be from any branch of service on active duty, active duty
    reserve, or national guard.
    Forgivable Education Loans for Service (FELS)
    FELS provides financial assistance to qualified students enrolled in an
    approved education program and committed to working in critical employment
    shortage professions in North Carolina.  Students receiving funds through FELS
    are obligated to work in North Carolina in the chosen field upon completing
    their academic programs.  Those who do not fulfill the service obligation must
    repay the loans in cash, with interest.   Eligibility requirements and other

    The North Carolina Society of Accountants Scholarship Foundation
    is offering a $600 scholarship for deserving students who want to enter
    into the profession of accounting. Interested students please see your counselor for an application.

    Linwood Singletary Memorial Scholarship / Rob.Co. Agribuisness

    Kiwanis of Robeson-Lumberton Trade and Industrial Education Scholarship

    -Kiwanis of Robeson-Lumberton recognizes students who attend Robeson County
    Career Center to develop technical, leadership, and employabilty skills which are in
    demand in our local, state, national, and global economies. Selected students
    will be recognized at the senior awards program at their base high school. Students
    must be attending Robeson Community College. The amount of the scholarship

                             Ron M. Ferebee Scholarship
    The Scholarship was established in May 2014 to honor Ron Ferebee's life and
    legacy as an outstanding architectural drafting teacher. He wanted his
    students to be marketable and taught them to build a foundation of success
    that would carry them throughout their lifetime. He sought to prepare
    them for the workforce. The scholarship award is $500.

    North Carolina State Employees Credit Union Foundation 

    The "People Helping People" high school scholarship program will provide
    a four-year college scholarship to graduating seniors though each of the state LEA.
    Each LEA will receive at least one scholarship valued at $10,000 and will determine
    the selection process.  Scholarship recipient information (High School Scholarship Packet)
    must be submitted by the Scholarship Selection Committee at each LEA.
    No individual "applications" are reviewed by the Foundation.

    Youth Volunteer Scholarhsip Award
    Regconizes and awards a student who demonstrates a passion for volunteering, while
    maintaining a high level of academic achievement. Student must have completed a
    minimum of 50 hours of volunteer work over the past 2 years and maintained a
    3.5 GPA or higher. A student must submit an essay: Explain in less than 1000
    words why you have chosen to volunteer your time with the organization(s) that

                          Virtual Business Scholarship Application
    Knowledge Matters, the maker of Virtual Business simulations, is pleased to
    announce the annual Virtual Business Scholarship for high school business,
    marketing and personal finance students currently enrolled in their junior and
    senior years of high school throughout the United States. This scholarship is
    intended to help eligible applicants defray the costs of their continuing education.
     The scholarship applications will be judged nationally and the winner will
    receive $2,000.

    To be eligible for nomination by their teachers, students must exhibit excellence
    in business, marketing or personal finance classes and show interest and
    accomplishment in the use of technologies in these subjects. The deadline for
    nominations is April  2015 and the final selection will be made by an independent
    panel of judges. The scholarship money will be disbursed during May 2015.

    in the American Indian Community and commitment to American Indian

                                  Scholarship by Design Award
    A student must come up with a unique Scholarship Program idea that is aimed
    at high school senior or a college undergrad student. The two most important
    aspects that you come up with an idea that is unique and that it is appealing. A
    student who comes up with the best idea for a new Scholarship Program
    will receive the scholarship. For the application:
                                 The J.J. Johnson Scholarship:
    The J.J. Johnson Scholarship Fund was established in December 1996
    to encourage, support, and inspire young people to achieve thier
    post high school educational goals. Applications are available
    to any graduating senior attending the Public Schools of Robeson
    County and any graduating senior of First Baptist Church,
    North Main Street, Fairmont, NC.

    This scholarship is for any senior who has been accepted at UNC-Pembroke for the

                                Long Branch Elementary School PTA Scholarship Program:
    Applicant must have attended at least 1 full year at Long Branch Elementary, must be
    considered a full-time student, currently a high school senior,
    and has been accepted at an institute of higher learning and will graduate
    from high school after June 1, 2016. Transcripts and
    GPA are to be submitted with the application, along with ACT or SAT scores.
    Three written recommendations are required from the principal and two
    current or past high school teachers. Financial need will be considered.

                            LMS Scholarship Program
    $1,000 scholarship for a student having a 3.0 or higher and submit an essay
