NC Science Olympiad                                    This is an image of a pirate ship.

The Science Olympiad Team is an academic competition organization open to all students grades 9-12 who have a strong interest in science. Annual competitions include regional and state tournaments with an opportunity to advance to the national tournament.
The first meeting for student members who participated in the previous year's State Tournament will be in late September in room, D202, immediately after school. Please listen to all announcements and watch for additional information about first meeting for all other interested students. Regular meetings are on Friday afternoons immediately after school in D202.
The application form is located on this web page and contains additional information about dues and benefits.  It is due by a date in mid October along with dues. Copies will be available at the first meeting and after that in D202.  Event assignments and practices will begin as soon as event rules become available in October.
Students who wish to be on the Science Olympiad team must realize that much of the practice and construction is done independently and everyone is expected to work.  We are limited to the number of students on a team. Everyone is welcome to practice and help with any event and even travel with us to the tournaments.  But when it is competition time the people who have worked the hardest and participated in the scheduled practices will be competing. The Regional competition is held each February with the State Tournament each April.
