    Course syllabus for Math III
         With great anticipation, I am looking forward to teaching your child this semester.  My primary goal this semester is for your child to be successful in this math class.  In order for us to achieve this, I need the help of parents and the student.  As we know the student must be more concerned about their education than anyone else and be responsible for turning in work on time and completing assignments.
         If you ever need to contact me about any matter that pertains to your child, feel free to call me at 521-3253 and leave a message and I will call you back.  If you would like to meet with me for a conference, my planning period is from 8:00 - 9:25 a.m.  With all of us working together I can assure you that your child will be successful.
    Prerequisite:  MATH I / MATH II
    Attendance:  Student must not be absent more than 5 days, if they do, it is their responsibility to go to Saturday School from 8:00-12:00 to make up the days.
    Learning centers will be available every Tuesday and Thursday immediately following 4th period.  If a student fails a test, it is their
    responsibility to stay for remediation the first day and on the second day Retest in the Learning Center.  The bus will transport your child home or you can provide them transportation after Learning Centers.  70 and up is passing test grade (can't retake 
    COURSE CONTENT:  In this course we will be using the Algebra 2 and Geometry textbook.  The following topics will be covered:  rational and irrational numbers, complex numbers, polynomials, rational expressions, equations, equations in two variables, word problems dealing with mortgage payments, functions, inverse functions, logarithmic functions, trigonometry, congruence geometry, similarity geo9metry, circles, parabolas as conics, the normal distribution, and statistical inferences.  Many strategies for learning will be used during the semester such as:  group work and hands on activities>  Students will be assessed by homework, classwork, group work, quizzes, tests, and projects.  Hopefully by covering these topics, your child will be better prepared for their next Math Class and College.
