Providing a safe educational environment for students in the Public Schools of Robeson County is the number one goal for the Safe and Drug-Free Schools Program. Each year offers new and exciting opportunities for students, parents, staff, support personnel, law enforcement, communities and other outside agencies to work together to ensure everyone’s safety. The program offers training on character building, conflict resolution, peer mediation, gang awareness, D.A.R.E., Rapid Deployment, and many other issues throughout the year.
One of most successful of the programs is the Project Graduation which just celebrated its 21st year. On graduation night, PSRC seniors enjoy a safe and drug free night with food, fun, games, dancing and entertainment. We also plan to reinstate another successful program, TEEN Empowerment Summit Program. At this time hundreds of PSRC teens will come together for a one or two day event where they are empowered to fight against drugs, tobacco, and violence in our schools and communities.
