Ms. Shauna Ward

Dear Parents/Guardians,

My name is Shauna Ward, your child’s Career and Technical Education teacher this year. This marks my eighth year of teaching at Fairmont Middle School. I’m happy to welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year! I’m looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure that your child will achieve their highest potential. For your child to be successful he/she will need support from both home and school. I believe that a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for your child's success. I want you to know that I will do my best to carry out my responsibilities. I ask that you guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring that he/she:

1) Attends school daily and arrives on time ready for the day’s learning experience.

2) Complete all assignments given by the teacher on time.

3) Share school experiences with you so that you are aware of his/her school life.

4) Informs you if he/she needs additional support in any subject area.

5) Knows that you expect him/her to succeed in school and go to college.

This year I will be teaching BU10 Computer Skills & Applications and CC58 Exploring Career Decisions. These classes will be paperless, meaning all assignments will be turned in and graded online through our Google classroom. I encourage you to monitor your child’s progress in my class on a weekly bases. Students will be able to see their assignment grades, teacher feedback, and missing assignments via the classroom portal. You may request your student’s weekly summary report via my email.

If you have any questions please contact me at shauna.ward@robeson.k12.nc.us. My office hours are 9:19 am - 10:34 am Monday - Friday.

Let’s make this an awesome year!

Sincerely,

Ms. Shauna Ward
