I hold a bachelor's degree in Chemistry and a Master's degree in Chemistry, with an emphasis in Biochemistry. Before returning to NC in 2003, I was teaching undergraduate students Chemistry at FAMU. I have been teaching at St Pauls High School since 2003, beginning first in the Math Department and then in the Science Department. This year I will continue teaching Science and Math at Lumberton High School. While in graduate school, my research involved diabetes and the affect of G. latifolium leaves on the progression of the disease in Type II diabetes. Resulting from this work was my thesis titled Preliminary Studies of the Hypoglycemic Agent(s) in G. latifolium Leaves and a journal article about the affect of dietary caloric restriction on the disease (a link to which can be found under Quick Links).I am so pleased to have your child this semester. If you need to contact me for any reason, please feel free to do so. I will be contacting each of you at some point during the semester and am greatly appreciative of any assistance that you can provide in support of your child's education.
