    Dear Magnolia Family,

I hope all of you are well and safe. Please completely read this post. With this post is some math work for your 7th grade child to complete while we are out of school to stay in practice for when we come back. Make sure you and your child UNDERSTAND the school year is not over. (The time that we are not actually in a school building does NOT mean summer vacation.) We still have school either online or packets. I expect ALL of my work to be completed. If you have internet access and a device, your child should be completing assigned work. This is communicated through Google Classroom. Your child already knows how to use it. (Don’t let them tell you otherwise!) Your child can use his/her notes and Outstanding Math Guide (OMG). They can also use other websites for help like  https://www.khanacademy.org/  (choose Courses, choose 7th Grade, then choose the Course Summary needed, then the topic and follow the prompts). Mrs. Perez's students are to work in splash math per her directions. If you do not have internet access or no device or neither, your child will be required to complete work from Math Ready Textbooks. I will call you as needed to tell you which book and which page numbers. You or your child needs to keep this work in a folder until I let you know how, when and where to drop it off for me to check.

The internet math assignments are set up so that your child can take it as often as needed for a higher score. I can also reassign an iReady lesson for a higher score but your child will have to let me know by email. I will also accept late work (extended time), just remember your child’s grade in powerschool will show missing and = 0 until it is completed and I see it. If you or your child have any questions or need help you can email me anytime donovan.blackman@robeson.k12.nc.us . I will periodically check email on a daily basis Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm on regular school days. I will also set up Google Meets where we can communicate directly with each other visually as well as verbally via internet as long as your child’s device has a camera. The days and times of my google meets are: Monday & Thursday mornings 9:00 am to 9:55 am and Tuesday evening from 6:30 pm to 7:10 pm.

Thank you for your cooperation and for being involved in your child’s education. As I get time, I will add information and resources to my website. As you can imagine there is a lot going on now days.

                                                                                 Sincerely,

                                                                                 Donovan Blackman
