Mr. Henderson

I am Mr. Henderson, native of Red Springs, NC and Physical Education Teacher at Red Springs Middle.  I coach Boy's and Girl's Basketball, Football, and assist with other sports.  I teach Health and Physical Education for the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.  My planning time 10:43 a.m. - 12:22 p.m.  I can be reached by e-mail at edward.henderson@robeson.k12.nc.us or by phone at 910-843-3883.  All students who participate in Physical Education participate in a daily exercise routine consisting of fitness walking, jumping jacks, sit ups, push ups and various jumps that promote healthy living and lifelong fitness.  Students who are regularly active often perform well on test according to various researcher.  

Resource times for the school year are as such:  5th grade from 12:25 p.m. - 1:40 p.m.; 6th grade from 8:05 a.m. - 9:20 a.m.; 7th grade from 9:24 a.m. - 10:39 a.m.; and 8th grade from 1:45 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.  Students are exepected to come to class with high energy, enthusiams, and effort.  Each day, students are also offered a cross-cirriculum activity to promote learning in all subjects.

Students will be held to the Public Schools of Robeson County grading scale as followed:  100-90 = A; 89-80 = B; 79-70 = C; 69-60 = D; and 59 and below = F.  

Students have designated seating areas in class as well as designated workout locations.  Students are informed on proper dress attire in for class.  Heels, hard bottom shoes, should be avoided.  County dress policy should also be followed.  

  • Fall Sports:  August - October:  7th and 8th grade Football, Cheerleading, and Girl's Volleyball.

    Late Fall Sports:  November - February:  Girl's and Boy's Basketball and Cheerleading

    Spring Sports:  March - May: Baseball and Softball

     

    Sports are open for tryout for students in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade with the exception of football which is only open for 7th and 8th grade.
