I have possessed a passion for history and genealogy since early childhood. Many of my ancestors have lived in the Carolinas since the time of the American Revolution. One was even at Valley Forge with George Washington. I really enjoy sharing my knowledge of the past, and preserving it for future generations.
I am a 1991 graduate of Francis Marion University where I earned my BA in History and had a minor in German. I was fortunate to travel to Germany as an exchange student during the summer of 1987 and again during the summer of 1988. There I lived with my host family in the 2000 year old city of Neuss. I really enjoyed having the opportunity to experience the history of Europe first hand, and visited numerous castles and cathedrals.
In 1999 I graduated from Francis Marion a second time earing my Masters in Learning Disabilities. For the past two and a half years I have taught history to the students in the OCS program here at Red Springs High School. My present assignment is as a teacher in the TMD classroom.
