    I am looking forward to an awesome year as we travel around the globe, soar to new heights, and investigate the world around us through reading. The power of knowledge is gained through books and hands-on learning experiences.
     
                                      
     
    A Little About Me
     
                  My name is Brenda "Kay" Pittman and have been teaching at Long Branch Elementary since August 2008. I taught sixth grade at Carroll Middle School and first grade at East Robeson. I attended Fayetteville State University in which I am certified and highly qualified in Elementary Education K-6 with Masters degrees in Elementary Education, Science 6-9, and Reading Specialist. 
                 I have been married to David Pittman for 45 years. We have two daughters, five grandsons, and one great grandson. Our oldest daughter, Beth, lives with her husband, Rob, and two of their three sons, Adrian and Logan, in Boiling Springs, S.C.  Gavin and his son,Tytis, live in Hastings, N.E.

             Our youngest daughter, Casandra, lives with one her two sons, Derrian, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Zackery lives in Washington-state and works for Amazon, Derrian is in the eleventh grade. Casandra is a Pharmaceutical Technician and is employed at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center in Chesapeake, VA.

     David and I enjoy hunting and fishing in our spare time, but most importantly, spending time with family. We are also very active with our church, Orrum Baptist, and our community. Needless to say, our grandsons are at the center of our attention.
