The Fairmont High School Tornado Battalion has named Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Irion Lewis as their 2016-2017 Battalion Commander.

Cadet Colonel Cheyenne English was also named the Robeson County Regimental Commander while Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Irion Lewis was named the Robeson County Regimental S-2 after they produced outstanding results in the Robeson County Regimental Board.

These Cadets are very excited to lead the JROTC program in their last year of high school and can’t wait to see what this school year has in store for them! English and Lewis are very confident that they will leave their mark on the history of Fairmont’s JROTC program.

So far, this year, our drill team has placed first in the Scotland County Drill Competition and our rifle team placed second in the Robeson County Rifle Competition, also our team has brought home the Regimental Colors 3 times and has participated in the Special Needs Affair. Currently, things are looking good for the Tornado Battalion! We will have to wait and see what else is in store for our Cadets and our Leaders.
