The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholarship Program is an undergraduate scholarship program available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend the nation's best 4-year colleges and universities.

U.S. Senate Youth Scholarship
This is a scholarship program that provides an educational opportunity for juniors and seniors interested in pursuing careers in history, political science or public service. The Belk Scholarship recognizes and rewards students who demonstrate superior intellect, personal achievement and significant leadership. NC State University (College of Textiles)
The 15thannual Centennial Scholarship competition for top students interested in NC State University is underway. This program is for students interested in the fields such as engineering, business management, chemistry, polymer chemistry, forensics management… as these are the focus areas within the internationally known textile programs at NC State. In 1986 Coca-Cola paid tribute to communities across the country by establishing a scholarship program to support higher education. The Foundation annually awards 200 regionally scholarships of $10,000 and 50 National Scholarships of $20,000. Navy ROTC ScholarshipThis scholarship is valued at $180,000 over a 4 year period, includes tuition, books ($750 per year) plus instructional and lab fees. This program offers students the opportunity to earn a degree and valuable leadership skills. The Jagannathan Scholarship is given to a graduating high school senior planning to attend one of the constituent institutions of the University of North Carolina. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship
Scholarship founded by the N.C. Association of Educators Minority Affairs Committee for NC residents enrolled in a high school program in their senior year in high school. Selection criteria involves character, personality, and scholastic achievement of the applicant. Application can be accessed @ http://www.NCAE.org.

The Florence Kidder Memorial Scholarship
The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the State of North Carolina will award a scholarship of $3,000 and a runner-up of $1,000 to two North Carolina senior high school students to be used at any NC college or university. The scholarship recipients will be selected on the basis of character, need, scholastic record as well as the relative merit of submitted essay.

The Golden LEAF Scholarship is valued at $12,000 ($3,000 per year for up to four years). Priority for scholarships will be given to students from families adversely affected by the decline of the tobacco industry. Lumber River Electric Membership Corporation Scholarship
Each year, we award six local high school seniors more than $40,000 in educational assistance as part of our scholarship program. The Lucy Smith, John S. O'Briant, Thomas Wade Bethea and Elias Rogers scholarships are for students planning to attend a four-college or university. Each scholarship is valued at $8,000. The J.W. Hunt scholarship is for a student planning to attend a four year college pursuing a agribusiness degree valued at $8,000. Also, one $2,000 scholarship for an individual planning to attend a two-year college or technical school.

Cape Fear Farm Credit Scholarship

NC Association of Educational Office Professionals (NCAEOP)
Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic achievement initiative and financial need. Must be a U.S. citizen; be a graduating high school senior or who has applied for admission in a post high or freshman in a post-high program. Amount of scholarship is $1,200.

Lumbee Guaranty Bank Scholarship Program
Applicants must be high school seniors who plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two or four-year college, university or technical-vocational school in the fall following graduation. Scholarship award of $1,000 that may be renewed at the same amount for an additional three years by maintaining a 2.0 GPA or higher. Interested students must complete an application.

Pembroke Business and Professional Women's
The Grace Epps Memorial Scholarship provides $250 to a high school female student who exemplifies character, leadership, academic success and community involvement. Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

APRIL DEADLINES

The North Carolina Federation of Republican Women (NCFRW)
A merit based scholarship, "Caring for America", to assist children of North Carolina service members desiring to pursue a degree (or vocational certification from an accredited North Carolina college, vocational or technical institution. $1,000 will be awarded to a dependent child of an active duty NC service member who was wounded or killed while serving in a combat zone from September 11, 2001 until present. Service member can be from any branch of service on active duty, active duty reserve, or national guard.

Forgivable Education Loans for Service (FELS)
FELS provides financial assistance to qualified students enrolled in an approved education program and committed to working in critical employment shortage professions in North Carolina. Students receiving funds through FELS are obligated to work in North Carolina in the chosen field upon completing their academic programs. Those who do not fulfill the service obligation must repay the loans in cash, with interest. Eligibility requirements and other details can be found at http://www.CFNC.org/FELS.

The North Carolina Society of Accountants Scholarship Foundation
Is offering a $600 scholarship for deserving students who want to enter

Kiwanis of Robeson-Lumberton Trade and Industrial Education Scholarship
Kiwanis of Robeson-Lumberton recognizes students who attend Robeson County Career Center to develop technical, leadership, and employability skills which are in demand in our local, state, national, and global economies. Selected students will be recognized at the senior awards program at their base high school. Students must be attending Robeson Community College. The amount of the scholarship is $1,000. Ron M. Ferebee Scholarship
The Scholarship was established in May 2014 to honor Ron Ferebee's life and legacy as an outstanding architectural drafting teacher. He wanted his students to be marketable and taught them to build a foundation of success that would carry them throughout their lifetime. He sought to prepare them for the workforce. North Carolina State Employees Credit Union Foundation
The "People Helping People" high school scholarship program will provide a four-year college scholarship to graduating seniors though each of the state LEA. Each LEA will receive at least one scholarship valued at $10,000 and will determine the selection process. Scholarship recipient information (High School Scholarship Packet) must be submitted by the Scholarship Selection Committee at each LEA. No individual "applications" are reviewed by the Foundation. See you counselor for additional information.

Jerry Long Excellence Scholarship

This is a scholarship program awarding scholarships to children of North Carolina law enforcement officers killed or permanently disabled in the line of duty. Eight students were awarded $250-$4,000 last year!!

State Employees Association of North Carolina Scholarship Foundation
This program will issue 30 annual scholarships for active SEANC members, their spouses, and their dependents.

Bob R. McGuire Memorial Scholarship (N. C. Child Support Council Scholarship)
Scholarship Criteria:

  1. At least one parent must be a member of the NC Child Support Council or a client of the Child Support Program (through either Child Support services or Clerk of Court services).

The J.J. Johnson Scholarship
The J.J. Johnson Scholarship Fund was established in December 1996 to encourage, support, and inspire young people to achieve their post high school educational goals. Applications are available to any graduating senior attending the Public Schools of Robeson County and any graduating senior of First Baptist Church, North Main Street, Fairmont, NC.

The applicant must be active in his/her church and community; have a good attendance and conduct record; and must have obtained a C+ average or better. See your counselor for an application.

Criteria for this scholarship:

Long Branch Elementary School PTA Scholarship Program

Applicant must have attended at least 1 full year at Long Branch Elementary, must be
considered a full-time student, currently a high school senior, and has been accepted at an institute of higher learning and will graduate from high school after June 1, 2016. Transcripts and GPA are to be submitted with the application, along with ACT or SAT scores. Three written recommendations are required from the principal and two
current or past high school teachers. Financial need will be considered.

Prospective Teacher Scholarship Loan
The Prospective Teacher Scholarship Loan is a competitive, merit-based scholarship-loan program available to full-time students who have chosen to enter the education profession. A school official such as a high school guidance counselor or principal must recommend students for this award.

Recipients must have maintained a minimum unweighted cumulative grade point average of a 2.5 or better, received a score of 900 or better on the SAT or equivalent ACT score, enroll in a teacher preparation program at any of the eligible institutions, and plan to pursue a degree in teacher education to become a certified teacher and demonstrate a commitment to teach in the State's public schools. The annual award will be $4,000 per year for juniors and seniors and $2,500 per year for freshmen and sophomores including community college students planning to transfer into a teacher education program at a four-year institution.

One half of the award is made available to the recipients in the fall semester and the remainder in the spring semester. The scholarship-loan is renewable. Funding for the program is contingent each year upon appropriations made available to the State Education Assistance Authority by the General Assembly.
