Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act
FERPA
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (20 U.S.C. ยง 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99) is a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. The law applies to all schools that receive funds under an applicable program of the U.S. Department of Education.

In addition to the FERPA rules and regulations, Purnell Swett High School Counseling Department adheres to the following for their case load:
Each counselor assures accuracy of the student cumulative folder to include transcript;
Each counselor maintains student cumulative folders in their office
Each counselor is responsible for final graduation reports;
Students/Parents/Guardians can request transcripts to be picked-up or mailed by completing a transcript request form located under "Quick Links" at the bottom of the school's website

Clearinghouse for athletes
Clearinghouse: Seniors that plan to play a sport in college you must register online for the Clearinghouse. The website is www.eligibilitycenter.com Also when registering for the SAT/ACT please list the code of 9999. This is required if you plan to play any college sport in Division I or II.
