Two local affiliates of Kiwanis International participate in different programs serving students at Rowland-Norment.

They sponsor the "Terrific Kids" Program. Each teacher selects from his/her class, one child per week who is honored as the "Terrific Kid".

The Kiwanis of Robeson club participates in "Read Across America", a national initiative conducted on Dr. Suess' birthday that promotes reading as a foundation for living, succeeding and contributing in our society. Specifically, Kiwanis members visit every second grade classroom in Robeson County and read a story to the children and present each child with his/her very own book as an incentive to collect books, learn and enjoy reading.
