PSRC Senior Could Win Car With Driven 2 Excel Campaign

Please see PSRC webpage for more information

CONGRATULATIONS, Parents and Seniors, you made it! This is your last year of high school!

How would you like to win a brand new 2018 Honda Fit or a $1,000 laptop or $500 tablet to head off to college with? In conjunction with the Public Schools of Robeson County, Beasley Media Group (including Foxy 99, WKML, 107.7 JAMZ, 96.5 BOB FM, Sunny 94.3 and 93.5 My Kiss Radio) has joined with Lumberton Honda, Lumbee River EMC and - - - to reward you with fantastic incentives for your scholastic performance.

WHAT IS D2E? The Beasley Media Group’s “Driven to Excel” program is a community-enhancement campaign designed to reward high school seniors in the Public Schools of Robeson County. These seniors must achieve high levels of academic achievement and exemplary attendance records throughout the 2018-19 school year.

HOW DOES D2E WORK? On August 28th, 2018, Beasley Media Group will launch the first “Driven to Excel” program in Robeson County. Your high school guidance counselors and social workers have details regarding this program. To qualify, you must have no more than five absences during the school year and achieve a weighted, cumulative G.P.A. of 3.2 or higher during the qualification periods. If you qualify, you will be invited to an exclusive, invitation-only celebration where the giveaways will be awarded. The Grand Prize of a 2018 Honda Fit from Lumberton Honda will be given away at the end of the 2018-2019 school year during the event finale at Lumberton Honda (details to come).

DOES BEASLEY MEDIA GROUP HAVE ACCESS TO MY SON OR DAUGHTER’S PERSONAL INFORMATION? Beasley Media Group is providing the advertising and the manpower in conjunction with our community partners as well as some of the incentives for the program. Neither Beasley Media Group nor any of their community partners have access to students’ names, grades, addresses, etc. Only the Public Schools of Robeson County has access to that student information and will not provide any of this data to Beasley Media Group or any of their community partners. For this reason, it is imperative that your son or daughter see his or her guidance counselor as soon as possible to verify if he or she is eligible.

Eligibility of the qualifying students will be determined through the high school guidance counselors and social workers over two reporting periods. At the end of the first semester, high school guidance counselors will send a notice of eligibility home with qualifying students acknowledging their achievement. A similar notice will be sent home with the students that remain eligible from the start of the second semester through the end of the 2018-19 school year.

HOW DO I SIGN MY SENIOR UP FOR THE PROGRAM? Students do not need to sign up for the program. Qualifying students will automatically be invited to participate, as long as they achieve the minimum performance standards.

WHAT CAN QUALIFYING STUDENTS WIN? Prize winners will be determined by random drawings for qualified students that are in attendance at the event. They could win one or more of the following:

  1. A brand new 2018 Honda Fit from Lumberton Honda.

  2. $1,000 Laptop (2 to be given away)

  3. $500 Tablet (2 to be given away)

We look forward to your success! Remember, grades up, attendance up and you could be driving off to school in a brand new Lumberton Honda Fit!

Best of luck,

Dr. Shanita W. Wooten
