I was employed by the PSRC as a substitute teacher in 1999. In 2000, I was then hired on as a teacher assistant. With encouragement from my family and friends, I later decided to go back to school to become a teacher. My first year as a teacher began December 2014. With further encouragement from one of my professors at UNCP and my family, I decided to pursue my Masters of Education in Educational Administration in March of 2018. I received my Masters of Education in Educational Administration on October 18, 2019.
My husband and my children were my biggest supporters. I am blessed and thankful because they stood behind me and pushed me every step of the way.
One thing I have learned, during this journey is that all things are possible when you have a strong support system. Just as I was provided support during my educational journey, I will provide the same type of support for my students, because I want them to succeed, not only in my classroom, but also in their future endeavors.
