Congratulations to the Fairmont High School JROTC Raider Teams for winning 1st and 2nd place in the Maurice J. McDonough High School Raider competition located in Pomfret, Maryland on Saturday, March 16th. The events in competition consisted of a 5K mile run, team physical fitness challenge, one Rope Bridge, litter carry, vehicle pull or tug-a-war competition, and individual competition - pull ups, hand release push-ups, and air squats. The All-Boys team were Captain Bradley Floyd, Richard Hunt, Hosea Patterson, Jason Tyndall, Matthew Britt, Roberto Martinez, Kinston Green, Daquan Moore, and Angel Morales. By the way, this team had to run a 5K (3.5 miles), but was led the wrong way by a U.S. Marine private, in which, they ran 10K (7 miles) overcoming obstacles; and still having the best run time to come in 1st place. Now, that speaks volume for the Raider Team! The Mixed team were Co-Captain Ezekiel McNair and Keimar Rolle, Halona Hunt, Edgar Meneses, Choloe McQuage, Jamie Jones, Lucius Beasley, Billy Helton, and Jamelieth Arguetta worked hard to home the 2nd place trophy for the best mixed team. In the Individual competition, Cadet First Sergeant Bradley Floyd showed amazing athleticism and strength by winning the Iron Man award. These Cadets showed their teamwork and competitiveness to compete and WIN – We are PROUD of them; keep up the great work!!
