LUMBERTON — The Public Schools of Robeson County (PSRC) has been recognized as a 2025 Exemplary Partnership by the National Center for Families Learning (NCFL) and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. This distinguished recognition honors school districts that demonstrate a deep and sustained commitment to family and community engagement.
As part of this honor, PSRC will receive a $1,000 award to support ongoing family engagement initiatives. These funds will help the district expand programs and resources that strengthen collaboration between schools, families, and the broader community.
“We are honored to receive this recognition,” said Brendalyn Thompson, PSRC Family Engagement Specialist, who accepted the award on behalf of the district. “Family Engagement is a cornerstone of our work. This acknowledgment reflects the dedication of our educators, families, and community partners who share a commitment to the success of every student.”
Family engagement remains a districtwide priority for PSRC. Through intentional planning and collaboration, the district has reframed how it connects with families—creating opportunities that value diverse experiences and foster mutual trust and respect. PSRC continues to leverage the strengths of community partnerships to enhance student achievement and family well-being.
