Mental Health Minute

February often focuses on matters of the heart, and while we celebrate kindness and connection, it’s also a meaningful time to check in on emotional well-being.

In our schools, mental health is not an ‘extra.’ It is essential. When children feel safe, seen, and supported, they are better able to learn, grow, and thrive. The same is true for adults.

As educators and leaders, we spend our days pouring into others. February is a reminder that our own emotional wellness deserves attention as well.

Research consistently shows that strong adult well-being directly impacts student success. When we care for ourselves, we model resilience, balance, and healthly coping for our children.

This month, let us consider:

- Practicing small moments of connection.

- Extending grace to ourselves and others.

- Reaching out to a colleague for support.

In a month that celebrates love, remember: loving others begins with caring for your own mental health. The most important relationship you’ll ever have is the one you have with yourself.

Be kind to your mind.
