Children holding hand around the World

Long Branch Elementary School

Long Branch Elementary is dedicated to providing a quality education for every student.  Our Mission at Long Branch is “To establish a foundation for life-long learning while building strong moral character so students can become productive citizens of tomorrow.” In order to achieve this objective we will maintain partnerships with parents as well as the community.

What is Parental Involvement?

Parental involvement is the amount of time a parent spends with their child enriching their experiences in and out of the educational realm.

Parent Involvement in Developing Policy

The decision making for Title 1 is comprised of parents, members of community, educators, and principal.

Annual Meeting for Title I

Long Branch Elementary Title I meeting, held annually to provide information to parents about Title I funding and how it is allocated to help meet the needs of every child.

Parent/Community Volunteers

We welcome parent and community participation.  We strive to ensure everyone has a pleasant experience on our campus.  In order to do so, we must follow certain protocol, which includes a parent/community volunteer to fill out an appropriate volunteer form.  Our Volunteer Coordinator located on our campus governs this process.   Those who have the most volunteer hours at the end of the year will be cordially invited to a Volunteer Banquet.

Building Capacity for Parent Involvement

Long Branch Elementary will build the capacity for increased parental involvement by providing assistance to parents in understanding such focuses as:

  • North Carolina Common Core Standards

  • State and Local Assessments

  • Title I Expenditures

  • How to Monitor their child’s academic performance (PowerSchool)

The district offers “Parent Nights,” monthly to inform parents on school issues and to listen to any concerns parents may have.  This gives parents the opportunity to stay abreast of the latest news in education.

Shared Responsibility for High Student Achievement
