Hello! I wanted to share some good news I received. AIG students was offered the opportunity to compete in the NC Reading Association Young Author competition again this year. Our very own LJHS student who won at the state level! Rosa Miray, 7th grade, wrote a poem entitled "The Sun Shines Through" and received an excellent score from the judges at the state level. She will be recognized virtually at the state level, and will probably have a drive by recognition at the county reading association level later in the spring. Her poem will be published in the NC Reading Association book of young authors.
I am so proud of our aspiring young authors! There may be more students who will be selected as winners at the county level, but I have not received that information yet. I will let you know.
