On-campus testing Requirements

As we move forward during the 2021-2022 school year, we are pleased to provide your student with face-to-face instruction and, in some instances, medically exempt virtual instruction. Our priority is supporting students and their families. This letter shares information on state testing requirements for all students, including those in virtual learning settings.

As part of federal and state legislation, North Carolina students take required state tests each school year. This includes end-of-grade tests, end-of-course tests, the PreACT, The ACT, ACT WorkKeys, the College, and Career Readiness Alternate Assessment, NCEXTEND1, and the English language proficiency tests for English learners. Unlike spring 2020, when test administrations were canceled due to the pandemic, all required tests were administered in the 2020-21 school year. Likewise, required test administrations will continue to occur during the 2021–22 school year.

The testing requirement includes face-to-face as well as medically exempt virtual students. Students must take all state and local secure assessments (such as district benchmarks, ACT, WorkKeys, PreACT, NAEP, EOG/EOC, etc.) on campus. Again, all students will be required to test on campus this year. Please know we are committed to providing safe environments for your student to take all assessments required by the  State and Federal governments. A few of our safety protocols include masks worn by all staff and students, desk shields in all classes, daily sanitization of school busses and buildings, contact tracing, and MAKO COVID-19 pool testing for those students with written parental consent.

If you have questions or need additional information, don't hesitate to contact the school at (910) 843-4125.
