Learn with IXL at Home
The Public Schools of Robeson County uses IXL as a supplemental math and English Language Arts (ELA) instructional resource for students in grades K-8.
IXL offers learning resources spanning grades K–12, with skill-building opportunities designed to support students as they progress from foundational concepts in the elementary grades to more advanced coursework in middle and high school.
Students can also access IXL from home, giving families another way to support learning beyond the school day. IXL includes thousands of skills aligned with what students are learning and provides recommendations based on each student’s practice history and learning needs.
IXL LevelUp Diagnostic
Throughout the school year, students will participate in three IXL LevelUp Diagnostic benchmarks in Math and ELA:
September 7-25
December 1-17
April 12-30
The LevelUp Diagnostic provides a picture of a student’s current skill level, highlighting both strengths and areas for growth. Personalized Diagnostic Action Plans then help identify the specific skills each student should work on next.
Understanding IXL SmartScores
IXL uses a SmartScore to measure how well a student understands a skill. Unlike a traditional percentage grade, the SmartScore considers factors such as question difficulty, accuracy and consistency.
Students should aim for a SmartScore of 80, which indicates a strong understanding of a skill. Students can continue practicing to work toward mastery, represented by a SmartScore of 100.
Getting Started at Home
Students can access IXL at home by logging in through Clever. Families are encouraged to use IXL and the LevelUp Diagnostic results to better understand their child’s progress and support continued growth in Math and ELA.
