LUMBERTON, N.C. – The Public Schools of Robeson County (PSRC), in partnership with Beasley Media Group and Lumberton Honda, is excited to announce the continuation of the Driven 2 Excel program for the 2025-2026 academic year.

This unique initiative encourages academic achievement and excellent school attendance among Robeson County high school seniors, while offering them the chance to win a brand-new car courtesy of Lumberton Honda.

High school seniors at PSRC Early College, Fairmont High, Lumberton High, Purnell Swett High, Red Springs High and St. Pauls High who maintain at least a 3.2 grade point average and no more than five unexcused absences throughout the school year will qualify for the Driven 2 Excel grand prize event on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Lumberton Honda.

At the event, qualifying seniors will be entered into a drawing to win a brand new car courtesy of Lumberton Honda.

“Driven 2 Excel motivates our students to aim higher both in the classroom and with their attendance,” said PSRC Superintendent Dr. Freddie Williamson. “This partnership is a powerful way to remind students that consistent effort and dedication open doors to opportunities that can truly change their futures.”

Community Partnership

Lumberton Honda has served as the proud vehicle sponsor for the event for several years. For General Manager Kent Locklear, supporting the community’s youth is at the heart of the dealership’s commitment.

“We believe in investing in our young people,” Locklear said. “When students know their hard work in school can lead to a scholarship or even a brand-new car, it inspires them to do their best. We’re honored to be a part of celebrating these students’ accomplishments.”

Building on Success

Last year, more than 350 qualified students were eligible for the drawing, showcasing the strong commitment of Robeson County seniors to their education.

Rewarding Educators and School Staff

In addition to celebrating students, Driven 2 Excel recognizes the important role of educators and school staff in student success. At this year’s event, one lucky Robeson County educator or staff member present will be selected in a special $1,000 drawing sponsored by Lumberton Honda.

“Our educators and school staff are the driving force behind student achievement,” Locklear said. “This drawing is just one small way to show appreciation for the tireless work they do every day in schools across PSRC.”
