🎨Native American Heritage Month! 🪶
This week, our K–8 art students explored Cherokee-inspired coil and pinch pots, learning about the traditional pottery techniques and cultural significance these forms hold within Cherokee communities.
A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Ben from UNC Pembroke for sharing his knowledge and guiding our students through the creative process of making their own pinch pots. 🙌
It was a meaningful hands-on experience that helped our students appreciate the artistry, history, and cultural heritage of the Cherokee people. ❤️

🌾 Kicking off Native American Heritage Month! 🌾
Magnolia’s K–8 art classes had some very special visitors from UNC Pembroke this week! Our students learned about the cultural significance of pinecone patchwork, a beautiful and meaningful art form of the Lumbee Tribe.
After learning about the history and symbolism behind the designs, students had the chance to create their own patchwork art pieces, inspired by Lumbee traditions. The room was filled with color, creativity, and appreciation for this unique cultural expression!
A huge thank-you to our guests from UNCP for sharing their time, knowledge, and heritage with us. 💛❤️🖤🤍
