This week is free college application week. Using CFNC students can apply to over 60 schools in NC for FREE! In order to do this students have to complete their Residency Determination Application. This ensures they receive IN STATE TUITION. Students were sent how to do this in their school emails. Tomorrow is the last day this is free! UNCG will be on campus so if interested please sign up with Ms Towns, our college advisor. Lastly during our junior and senior parent night, Ms Towns will be there to answer any questions and assist seniors in reaching their post-graduate goals. To stay updated with Ms. Towns join her remind group. To do this send “@Mstcad” to 81010.
PSHS Community Members,
This is a reminder of the meeting this evening at 6:00 pm for the naming of the baseball field in honor of Mr. Ronnie Chavis. The meeting will be held in the media center. You are invited to attend.
Thanks and Have a Great Evening
Parents,
Students can’t learn if they are absent from school. School board policy states students can’t have more than five unexcused absences per semester. To make up missing time from school students must attend LC and SS. Making up days is not an option for anyone. If a student is passing and missed too many days, they will receive a grade of 51. Students may receive their passing grade by attending the correct number of LC and SS. This is an initiative to get students to come to school every day. If students can’t make it to school, they need to bring a note and put it in the drop box by the front office. For more information students can talk with their teachers or counselor.
Good Evening,
Tomorrow, Wednesday October 11, School will release at 11:30 AM for PSRC Professional Development. Parents, please ensure that students have a way home and that someone is their to receive them if necessary.
Thanks and have a great night.

Parents,
After much consideration, I have opened ticket sales for the homecoming dance scheduled for Saturday October 7th. Students may buy a ticket during lunch tomorrow Thursday October 6th only. So, students if you didn’t get a ticket, now is your chance; however, after lunch tomorrow do not look for me because the answer will be simply “no”. Once again, tomorrow during lunch will be the last chance to buy a dance ticket. Hopefully, this opportunity satisfies all the publicity we have been receiving. We look forward to seeing everyone Saturday night dressed to impress and everyone better be on their best behavior.
Thanks and Have a Great Night
Parents,
I need to make a correction on the date of the homecoming dance ticket sale. I made a mistake with the dates Thursday is the 5th not the 6th. So, tickets can only be purchased during lunch on Thursday October 5th which is tomorrow. Once again tickets can only be purchased during lunch on Thursday October 5th after that students will not be able to buy a ticket.
Thanks,
Parents,
This is a reminder that the teacher parking lot is not a drop off or a pickup during the school year. In the morning times parents should not be in the teacher parking lot unless they are here to see an administrator. I need parents to stay out of the teacher’s parking lot. I need my teachers to be able to maneuver freely in the parking lot without worrying about being ran over by a parent. Students are dropped off here as early as 7:00am; however, supervision is limited.
Parents,
School safety is of the utmost importance here at Purnell Swett High School. Based on information given to our School Resource Officer a weapon was seized today from a student’s car in the student parking lot. Purnell Swett High School does not tolerate or condone this type of behavior. This incident did not cause a disruption to the school day and all students were safe. All rules, policies and procedures mandated by the Public Schools of Robeson County will be followed and enforced. I want to remind students if they see something or know something then by all means they should say something to an adult. Students have a role in providing a safe and orderly school environment.
Thanks and Have a Great Evening

Parents,
As you know school begins Monday August 28th at 8:00am sharp. I would like to provide some tidbits of information that will help make next week an awesome first week of school. Student drop-off is at the front of the school and not the teacher parking lot. Students should not be dropped off or picked up at the store next to our school. PSHS will not assume any responsibility if anything happens while crossing the road or at the store. Students should adhere to the school dress code policy. It is on the school webpage, Facebook and copies were provided during Open-House and Freshman Transition. Dress code will be enforced on day one. Students will report to homeroom. If a student does not know their homeroom, they should report to the main gym immediately.Breakfast will not be served Monday morning.Schedules are final so please do not ask for a schedule change.
Thanks,
