The TIGERS cheerleading squad brought incredible energy to the UNC Pembroke Education Day football game on Saturday, October 12th. The event was a fantastic celebration of school spirit, camaraderie, and community engagement. Our cheerleaders not only enhanced the game atmosphere with their performances but also had the chance to showcase their talents and connect with fellow cheerleading teams. It was a memorable day filled with enthusiasm and pride! We appreciate our cheerleading coach, Ms. Mariah Jeffries for allowing our girls to participate in this experience.

Tomorrow is Indigenous Peoples' Day. Each year on the second Monday of October, our nation honors Indigenous Peoples by commemorating the heritage of Native American people. It’s a day to recognize the strength and resilience of Indigenous communities and it's a time to celebrate the cultures, traditions, and contributions of Native people in the U.S. today. Help us celebrate Indigenous Peoples' Day by wearing your favorite Native American t-shirt, ribbon skirt or shirt, or other school-appropriate American Indian attire.

Learning is tough work—and kids need fuel if they’re going to learn! That’s why a healthy midday meal is crucial to the growing children who go to school. October 14 - 18, 2024, is National School Lunch Week (NSLW). This annual observance promotes the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child’s life and the impact it has both in and out of the classroom. 🥗 Students, get ready to explore the tasty treasures awaiting you in the cafeteria.🏴‍☠️

October 14 - 18, 2024 is Digital Citizenship Week. Digital Citizenship Week teaches children how to act safely and ethically online and on their devices. How kids conduct themselves online impacts their well-being, so it’s important to guide and educate them on how to act responsibly in digital spaces. Our goal with Digital Citizenship is to enable children to make ethical and responsible decisions in online spaces and when using their digital devices. Help us encourage our Tigers to be responsible digital citizens.

The firefighters talked with the students about fire safety and prevention and expressed the importance of having working smoke detectors in the home. We appreciate members of our community who take a vested interest in our students' well-being. THANK YOU!
