Parents, prizes earned for selling World's Finest Chocolate are being sent home. Any student who sold six or more boxes of candy and is eligible for a cash prize did not get their prizes today. I am asking the parents of those students to come to school to collect their prizes because I do not want to send cash home with students. Please wait to be contacted before coming to school to collect those prizes. It might be advantageous to call the school before heading out, to make sure that everything is in order. If you have any concerns, do not hesitate to contact the school. Thank you.
This is a reminder that there will be NO SCHOOL tomorrow, November 10th, in honor of Veterans Day. If you know a veteran, thank them for their service to ensure our freedoms in America.

Today, our fifth and sixth grade students were part of an assembly where Dr. Bobby Brayboy presented in celebration of Native American Heritage Month. Dr. Brayboy is a retired veteran and Public Schools of Robeson County employee. Now, he takes pride in educating our students on American Indian history. He brought various pieces of jewelry and other artifacts and shared with the students how Native Americans have historically used things from nature to meet their needs. We appreciate Dr. Brayboy for coming to speak with our students.

Tomorrow is the field trip to UNC Pembroke for Lumbee American Indian Culture Day. All students in first, second, third, fourth, and sixth grades will be attending the trip. Today our students in Pre-K through fourth grade were treated to a live production of "The Energy Time Trek" by actors from the National Theatre for Children. Piedmont Natural Gas sponsored this play which emphasized what natural gas is, how we can conserve natural gas, how to be safe around natural gas, and how to make a family communication plan in the event of a natural gas leak. Ask your child about today's assembly to see how much they can recall.
