📌 March 12 PSRC BOE Pledge of Allegiance Leaders: Oxendine Elementary Beta Club

2023-2024 Students of Excellence were recognized at the March 12 Board of Education meeting and the recessed meeting on March 14.

☀️ The Summer School Schedule was also presented to PSRC Board of Education Members by Dr. Windy Dorsey-Carr, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, and Accountability.

💼 In other business, board members also approved:

📌 The PSRC District Crisis Plan.

📌 An Interlocal Inclusive Playground Funding Agreement (includes $50,000 for Kiwanis Playground).

📌 An Erate Bid for the new CTE Center (Spectrum was approved).

📌 Lawn Contract 2024-2025 (Gator’s Lawn and Landscaping, Bethea’s Lawn Care, & Richard Davis Lawn Care).

📌 2024-2025 Capital Outlay Projects (bleachers at Lumberton Junior High School, paving at St. Pauls Middle School’s parking lot, sewer replacement at Littlefield Middle School, girls' locker room renovations at Lumberton Senior High School, and paving at the Indian Education Program parking lot).

📌 Employment of Jamie Lowry as the new Exceptional Children’s Director effective July 1. Lowry is a speech pathologist at Pembroke Middle School. She will fill the role left vacant by the retirement of Latonya Burney.

📌 Closed Session Minutes.

A moment of silence was observed in memory of Darlene Davis Bryant, who passed away recently. She served as an academic coach. Also remembered during that time were Fairmont High School and Purnell Swett High School students who passed away recently and Townsend Elementary Principal Angela Faulkner’s son who passed away recently.

🎤 PSRC Athletic Director Glenn Patterson Sr. also gave an update on his relative who experienced a medical emergency at the March 12, 2024 meeting.

“On behalf of the Patterson family, we would like to thank you for your swift action,” Patterson said. “She is stable and her blood pressure is good. She is stable, but just keep her in prayer.”

🗓️ Board members also rescheduled the April meeting to take place on April 11 at 6 p.m. at PSRC Central Office due to their attendance at the National School Board Conference.
