The Public Schools of Robeson County (PSRC) is proud to join school districts across the nation in celebrating National Principals Month this October. This special observance honors the principals who serve as the backbone of our schools—providing leadership, guidance and unwavering commitment to student success.
“Our principals are the heart of our school communities,” said PSRC Superintendent Dr. Freddie Williamson. “They set the vision, create positive cultures and work every day to ensure that our students have the best possible opportunities to learn and grow. This month, we want to honor them for their leadership and their dedication to making a difference in the lives of our students and families.”
Principals in Robeson County oversee schools that are rich in diversity and community pride. They play a vital role in supporting teachers and staff in instructional excellence, fostering safe and welcoming school environments, building strong partnerships with families and community stakeholders, and advocating for resources and opportunities that benefit students.
In addition to recognizing the day-to-day responsibilities principals shoulder, PSRC encourages students, families, and community members to join in showing appreciation. Acts of gratitude can include writing a thank-you note, sharing a positive story, or publicly recognizing principals’ efforts.
This month, PSRC will highlight outstanding principals across the district through social media, newsletters, and school-based celebrations.
“Leadership matters,” Dr. Williamson added. “When we support and uplift our principals, we strengthen our schools and our communities.”
