🎄 PSRC Board of Education Meeting Highlights

Last night, the PSRC Board of Education met to celebrate student success, recognize outstanding staff, and move district initiatives forward.

✨ Opening & Remembrance
The meeting opened with a moment of silence for:
• Andrew Locklear, Prospect 3rd-grade student, who passed away recently
• Former Board Member Charles Bullard, who passed away recently
• The North Forsyth High School community following an incident on the school campus.
Pledge of Allegiance
Students from PSRC Early College proudly led the Pledge of Allegiance.
🎨 Holiday Card Contest Winners
PSRC Arts Supervisor Steven Taylor presented beautiful K–12 winning artwork, showcasing strong arts engagement across PSRC.
🌟 Impact Award Honorees
Presented by Jamal Campbell, PSRC Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources:
• Classified Employee of the Month: Teresa Jones, Rowland-Norment Elementary
• Certified Employee of the Month: Jessica Cummings, Rex-Rennert Elementary
Both were recognized for their leadership and positive impact.
Lumberton High FFA Honored
The Lumberton FFA Chapter was honored for the chapter’s achievement of the Three-Star National Chapter Award, the highest national FFA honor! Students thanked school and district leaders for their support.
🥗 NC Summer Nutrition Champion Award
PSRC Child Nutrition Director Charlene Locklear and the CNS team were celebrated for statewide recognition as a Rural Non-Congregate Summer Nutrition Innovation Champion.
📝 HR Standing Committee Discussion
The Board heard an overview of HR initiatives and discussed a possible standing committee structure, confidentiality, and reporting. No action taken at the meeting.
