Kindergarten County Wide Registration Dates
2026/2027 Kindergarten Registration will begin February 23, 2026 and will end April 3, 2026.
To ensure appropriate planning and routing, please notify the school administration team during registration if transportation services will be required.
Kindergarten Countywide Registration Procedure
Welcome to the Public Schools of Robeson County. The following information will guide you through enrolling your child as a new kindergarten student in our school district. We look forward to working with you and your child throughout their education. The window of 2026 Kindergarten Registration will begin February 23, 2026 and end April 3, 2026. More details are available below.
Kindergarten/ Is Your Child Ready?
Students must be five years old on or before August 31. There are generalized requirements for new student enrollment, according to the N.C. Department of Public Instruction. Please refer to the required checklist below. Parents or guardians, please choose the school that serves your address to register your children. Need to confirm your child’s school? Checklist of Required Documents for Enrollment:
Proof of Residency- (2) Proof of residency to include a signed lease agreement, utility bill (gas, water, internet, or electric) in your name, rental receipt, current listing on income tax forms, personal property tax listings.
Proof of Age - Child’s certified birth certificate or other documented proof of age (Examples: Certified birth certificate; or a certified religious record which shows your date of birth and was recorded before age 5. Other examples: If you cannot obtain the preferred evidence of your child’s age, you will be asked for other convincing evidence that shows the date of birth or age at a certain time such as: school records; a certified statement signed by the physician or midwife who was present at your birth; insurance policies; a passport; a delayed birth certificate, or an immigration or naturalization record.)
Immunization Record - Must meet NC Immunization requirements and the Board of Education’s Immunization Policy. NC Law requires Kindergarten students to have an up to date immunization record and completed Health Assessment. The required Health Assessment Form can be obtained from the school office or by visiting NC Health Transmittal Form (The form should be completed during the time of your child’s wellness visit. Submit the completed form within the first 30 days of school).
Contact your elementary school in your district to pick up an enrollment packet and obtain a date to finalize the registration process at the school.
Out of district transfers for Kindergarten should complete the application prior to April 1st.
Any information received will not be used for immigration or tax purposes.

Enrollment Packet Arrangement
The enrollment packet addresses all necessary documents needed to enroll a student in grades K-12 according to federal and state regulations. To ensure alignment in the district we have provided a check-list of required documents in the enrollment packet. .
While some items might be faxed to the school it is necessary to present the following information for enrollment in the Public Schools of Robeson County.

Parent Right to Know
Student Enrollment Form should be completed by all parents/guardians and filled out in black ink.
Personal Data Sheet (blue)
Safe Schools Enrollment Declaration requires that parents, guardians, or legal custodians of all students who transfer into the Public Schools of Robeson County or into another school district, provide a statement as to whether the student is under suspension or expulsion from attendance at a private or public school in this or any other state or has been convicted of felony in this or any other state.
Annual Health Status Update Form will be provided to inform the School Nurse and MTSS Team on accommodation or health concerns. Make sure all completed forms are provided to your School Nurse.

NC Health Assessment Form will be included in the enrollment packet for Kindergarten students or any student entering the NC Public Schools for the first time.
McKinney-Vento Eligibility Questionnaire* will be completed and provided to the School Liaison. The copy should be sent to the District Liaison: Mrs. Shaneitha Lee-Nance located at the Central Office.
A copy should remain at the school
Occupational Survey* (Hot Pink) should be completed by all parents regardless of employment status. Send this form directly to Dr. Sheri Herndon at the Central Office.

Home Language Survey* (blue) to be forwarded to the ML Teacher assigned to each school.
Military-Connected Student Data Collection Form
Cumulative Folder Inspection Log (green)
Scholastic Record (white)
Test Record Form (yellow)
Authorization to Release/ Exchange of Information will be completed only if the student has a treatment plan or additional academic items are needed (ex. IEP, Section 504, attendance reports, etc.).
PSRC Telephone Consumer Protection Act Notification
506 Forms distributed out from Indian Education will be completed by all parents to properly identify eligible students in the district. All forms should be forwarded to Dr. Connie Locklear at IEA.
