PSRC Board of Education Meeting Highlights – March 10, 2026
The Public Schools of Robeson County Board of Education met Tuesday evening to celebrate student achievement, recognize staff, and discuss important district updates.
Pledge of Allegiance
Battle of the Books teams from Littlefield Middle School led the pledge of allegiance during the meeting.
Lumbee Tribe Recognition
The Board presented a proclamation congratulating the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina on achieving full federal recognition — a historic milestone more than a century in the making. We are proud of our strong partnership with the Lumbee Tribe and look forward to the opportunities this brings to our students and community.
Statewide Communication Awards
PSRC earned three Gold Awards from the North Carolina School Public Relations Association (NCSPRA) recognizing excellence in communications, including graphic design and special events/programs.

Marilyn Sanderson, School Nurse (Rowland Norment Elementary School & Littlefield Middle) – Classified Impact Award
Mary Watson, 3rd Grade Teacher (Rowland Norment Elementary Schoolt) – Certified Impact Award
Both were recognized for their dedication and positive impact on students and staff across our district.

Outstanding students from each PSRC high school were recognized in partnership with local Chambers of Commerce for their academic achievement, leadership, and service.

PSRC Career Fair – March 21
Community members are invited to attend the PSRC Career Fair at Lumberton High School from 9:00–11:30 a.m. The district will be conducting on-the-spot hiring for certified and classified positions.
Teacher Workforce Update
A report from the NC Department of Public Instruction shows PSRC’s teacher attrition rate is lower than the regional rate, reflecting continued efforts to retain strong educators across the district.
PSRC Receives Clean Financial Audit
The district also received a clean financial audit, reflecting strong fiscal stewardship and responsible management of district resources.
