LUMBERTON — The Public Schools of Robeson County honored its April Impact Award winners during the April 21, 2026 PSRC Board of Education meeting.
“These individuals work tirelessly each day to help create a supportive and positive school environment where everyone can thrive,” said Jamal Campbell, PSRC Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.
The district extends gratitude to Mr. Austin Jacobs and Chick-fil-A for sponsoring this month’s gift cards and to Mr. Brandon Ventura and Sign City for sponsoring plaques.
Certified Employee: Pauline Cheng
The district proudly recognized Ms. Pauline Cheng, who serves as a music teacher at Lumberton Jr. High School, as the district’s Certified Impact Award recipient.
“Ms. Cheng is recognized for her exceptional dedication to students and the school community. She goes beyond her role by supporting students academically and personally, including helping with English language development and tutoring in math. A constant and reliable presence on campus, she contributes to school events, supports colleagues, and mentors students. Her positive attitude and commitment to student success make her a highly valued and impactful member of the school.” said LJHS Principal Dr. Jamane Watson.

Classified Employee: Sharron McLean
The district proudly recognized Red Springs Middle School Data Manager Ms. Sharron McLean as the district’s April Classified Impact Award recipient.
RSMS Principal Joyce Brown praised McLean for “her critical role in maintaining accurate and accessible student data that supports daily operations and instructional decisions.”
“She is dependable, detail-oriented, and consistently provides timely information that helps guide planning and school improvement. Her professionalism and willingness to support others also contribute positively to the school’s overall culture,” Brown said.
