LUMBERTON — The Public Schools of Robeson County (PSRC) is proud to announce that Rowland-Norment Elementary STEM educator Sarah Griffin-Greene has been selected as a 2026 Principal Fellow at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, one of the state’s most prestigious leadership development programs for future school administrators.
Griffin-Greene was chosen through a highly competitive selection process and will join an elite cohort of aspiring school leaders from across North Carolina as part of the university’s Master of School Administration program.
“I am grateful to PSRC for supporting me in this next step of my career and honored to be selected as a UNC Principal Fellow. This opportunity represents not only a personal milestone, but a chance to grow as a leader and better serve the students, families and staff of Robeson County,” Griffin-Greene said.
“I hope to become a leader who empowers others, builds strong school communities and creates opportunities for all students to succeed. I believe strong schools are built on relationships, innovation and a commitment to every child’s success. I look forward to developing those skills further through this program,” she added.
The UNC Principal Fellows Program is designed to prepare exceptional educators for the complex and rewarding field of school leadership through rigorous coursework, immersive experiences and mentorship opportunities.
“We are incredibly proud of Sarah and this outstanding accomplishment,” said Dr. Freddie Williamson, Superintendent of the Public Schools of Robeson County. “She has demonstrated a strong commitment to students, staff and excellence in education. This recognition reflects both her leadership potential and the bright future ahead of her. We are excited to see the impact she will continue to make for our schools and community.”
Griffin-Greene’s selection also highlights the strength of leadership development within PSRC and the district’s commitment to growing talented educators from within.
“We celebrate Sarah on this incredible milestone,” said Jamal Campbell, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources. “Her dedication, professionalism and passion for education make her highly deserving of this honor. We look forward to watching her continue to grow as a transformational leader.”
As a Principal Fellow, Griffin-Greene will begin her journey with orientation this summer and continue advanced studies that will help prepare her to lead schools across North Carolina.
