LUMBERTON — The Public Schools of Robeson County (PSRC) is pleased to announce the appointment of a new assistant principal at Red Springs High School for the 2026-2027 academic year. The appointment was approved during the Tuesday, August 11, 2026, meeting of the PSRC Board of Education.

Cassandra Locklear was named assistant principal of the school following the approval of the personnel report during the meeting.

Locklear brings with her more than 20 years of educational experience to the role. 

She most recently served as an academic coach at the school. During her time within the district, Locklear has also worked as an educator at Red Springs High School and as Lead Teacher at St. Pauls Middle School. 

“Strong school leadership is essential to creating an environment where students and educators can thrive,” said PSRC Superintendent Dr. Freddie Williamson. “Ms. Locklear brings a commitment to serving students and supporting the work happening each day at Red Springs High School. We congratulate her on this new role and are confident she will be a valuable addition to the school’s leadership team.”
