FAIRMONT — In Bear Country, there’s plenty to roar about as Fairgrove Elementary School embarks on a new year of learning, growth and achievement.
Staff have been hard at work preparing for an exciting school year and building upon the momentum already underway at the school. Principal Aaron Lowery said the focus remains on fostering a culture where excellence and achievement are evident in everything the school does.
That momentum follows a historic achievement for Fairgrove. For the first time in more than a decade, Fairgrove Elementary earned a School Performance Grade of “C” while also exceeding expected growth. School leaders credit the milestone to the collaborative efforts of staff, students, families and the greater Fairgrove community.
“At Fairgrove Elementary School, we believe every child can learn, grow, and succeed when provided a supportive and engaging learning environment,” Lowery said.
That commitment begins in the classroom, where educators will continue providing high-quality instruction and using student data to create learning opportunities that meet students where they are and help move them forward.
The school also plans to continue celebrating the accomplishments of students and staff while strengthening partnerships with families and the greater Fairgrove community to help propel student outcomes.
“We value the dedication of our hard-working teachers and staff, as well as our strong partnership with the school community,” Lowery said.
At Fairgrove, being a Bear also carries a special meaning. Students are encouraged to Believe in themselves and others, pursue Excellence in all they do, hold themselves Accountable and remain Respectful to their peers, staff and community.
Those values will guide the Bears as they continue building on their progress and showing what makes their school community special, the principal said.
