McClain

FAIRMONT, N.C. — Principal Dr. Isabel McClain envisions a school year of growth, achievement and renewed purpose at Fairmont Middle School. As she walks the halls of FMS, Dr. McClain does so with a clear vision for the year ahead: letting high expectations guide student success, celebrating progress and ensuring every student continues to have opportunities to excel.

As the school’s new principal, McClain’s goals for the school year are rooted in growth, high expectations and a belief in what students and staff can accomplish together.

“Every school year brings a new opportunity to grow, improve and make a lasting difference in the lives of our students,” Dr. McClain said. “We are choosing to focus on the possibilities of the future and the actions we take each day to move our school forward.”

For McClain, that work can be summed up in three commitments: Focus on Growth. Commit to Excellence. Be Accountable for Results.

Those words reflect the kind of culture she strives to cultivate at Fairmont Middle each day.

McClain believes every adult in the building has an opportunity to influence a student’s experience, whether through classroom instruction, encouragement, support or simply demonstrating each day that someone believes in their potential.

“Our staff is united in the belief that our students deserve our very best,” McClain said. “We are committed to providing the instruction, support, encouragement and opportunities they need to succeed.”

For McClain, growth is built day by day through intentional choices, a commitment to continuous improvement and a shared focus on moving students forward.

That philosophy is reflected in Fairmont Middle School’s theme for the year, “Level Up: No Excuses, No Limits, Just Results.”

For Fairmont Middle School’s new principal, the vision extends far beyond a theme or a single school year. It is about cultivating a lasting culture of excellence while nurturing an environment where students are challenged, supported and encouraged to reach their full potential.

“Together, we are continuing to build a stronger school, one decision, one classroom and one student at a time,” she said.
