RED SPRINGS — In the heart of the Red Springs community, Peterson Elementary School is a place where Tiger pride runs deep and every student success gives the school community another reason to celebrate.

That pride extends beyond the school’s walls. With dedicated staff, supportive families and a community invested in its children, Peterson Elementary is building an environment where Tiger Scholars are valued, challenged and inspired to succeed each day.

Principal Bri

an Freeman said students are encouraged to discover their strengths, persevere through challenges and reach their fullest potential while demonstrating respect and developing a love of learning.

“Peterson Elementary is a place where Tiger Scholars are empowered to dream big, work hard, and achieve greatness,” Freeman said.

This year, that pursuit of greatness is taking on a fitting theme: “Helping Tigers Win the Race.”

The theme represents the school’s commitment to ensuring every Tiger Scholar continues moving forward—not only academically, but socially, emotionally and as a leader.

Through high-quality instruction, meaningful relationships and a culture of high expectations, Peterson Elementary will encourage students to embrace new opportunities and strive for excellence.

And while every tiger may run at a different pace, no student runs the race alone.

Staff, families and the greater Red Springs community each have a role in encouraging students along the way, creating a support system grounded in the belief that every child is capable of success.

“Together, we are creating a school where every child belongs, every success is celebrated, and every day is another opportunity to grow,” Freeman said.

At Peterson Elementary, the finish line is about more than reaching a destination. It is about celebrating every step of progress along the way and ensuring Tiger Scholars have the support, opportunities and confidence to keep moving forward. For Principal Freeman, that is what it means to help every Tiger win the race.
