FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Public Schools of Robeson County Athletic Director Glenn Patterson was honored on September 28, 2026, as the NCHSAA Region 4 recipient of the Charlie Adams Distinguished Service Award.

Patterson was honored to receive the prestigious award, which recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and commitment to education and interscholastic athletics.

The Charlie Adams Distinguished Service Award is named in honor of Charlie Adams, the longtime executive director of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA), who retired from his position in January 2010.

One award is presented in each NCHSAA region to an individual who has at least 10 years of experience in education and athletics, remains active in the field, and has consistently gone “above and beyond” the call of duty at both the local and state levels.

As the Athletic Director for the Public Schools of Robeson County, Patterson has demonstrated a strong commitment to student-athletes, coaches, schools, and the community. His leadership has supported athletic programs and provided students with opportunities to compete, develop character, build leadership skills, and experience the many benefits of interscholastic athletics.

Receiving the Region 4 honor is a reflection of Patterson’s years of service and dedication to education and athletics. His commitment to supporting students and athletic programs exemplifies the spirit of the Charlie Adams Distinguished Service Award.

The Public Schools of Robeson County proudly congratulates Mr. Glenn Patterson on this well-deserved recognition and thanks him for his continued service and dedication to PSRC student-athletes, coaches, and schools.
