Mrs. Mary and Mrs. Anessa's second-grade students explored the fascinating process of pollination by researching and writing about how it works. They practiced their oral presentation skills and created impressive posters to display their findings. They shared their research with classmates, first-grade classes, and staff, reflecting on these key questions:
How do we get the fruits, flowers, and vegetables we enjoy?
How can we become researchers and share what we’ve learned?

Stop your scroll! Let me introduce you to Gi'ana Smith. Gi'ana is a fifth grade student here at Union Chapel Elementary School. Here are some fun facts about Gi'ana:
* Her favorite animal is a dog. (They're not called man's best friend for nothing.)
* Her favorite color is light pink. (Get outta here, fuschia.)
* Her favorite place is Carowinds. (How loud do you scream on the Vortex, Gi'ana?)
* She likes to read and draw in her free time and wishes that everything in life was free. (It doesn't cost anything to be kind.)
* She uses the word 'determined' to describe herself.
Mrs. Ashley Kurfurst, Gi'ana's teacher, says, "Gi'ana works hard in class and is a pleasure to teach. Keep up the great work!" What a great compliment!
Gi'ana is featured on our Facebook page because she purchased this certificate in our PBIS Store. If your child would like to receive a shout-out on our social media pages, they can buy this opportunity using their PBIS points. We love highlighting our wonderful students.

🌟 Fifth Grade Science Fun with S'mores! 🌟
Ms. Kim McNeill's 5th grade science classes had a sweet time learning about physical and chemical changes! 🍫🔥🧑🔬
Students experimented by making s'mores, observing how the ingredients change both physically and chemically as they melt and combine. They got hands-on experience with the science behind the transformations — from gooey marshmallows to melted chocolate!
A big shout-out to our young scientists for their curiosity and creativity in the classroom! 🔬👏
