📚✨ A huge thank you to the Kiwanis of Robeson-Lumberton for visiting our school and reading to our second grade classes yesterday! Our students had a blast listening to the stories and engaging with the amazing volunteers. 📖💫
But the fun didn’t stop there – every second grader walked away with a FREE book! 🎉📚
We are so grateful for the Kiwanis’ generosity and support in fostering a love of reading in our students. You made a big impact, and we can’t wait to read all the new books! ❤️

🦅🔬 First Grade Science Fun with Birds! 🔬🦅
Mrs. Valary Jacobs' first-grade class took their learning to the next level with an exciting science challenge, tying in perfectly with their latest EL Education Curriculum unit! The students have been exploring the fascinating world of birds, focusing on how their specially designed body parts, like beaks and feathers, help them survive in nature.
In the challenge, our young scientists used tools like pliers, tweezers, and pasta servers as their "beaks" to answer some big questions:
Which beak is best at crushing seeds?
Which beak is best at scooping fish without getting too much water?
Which beak is best at digging through dirt to get to worms?
If you don't know the answers to these questions, just ask our first graders. The students had a blast experimenting and discovering how different beak shapes are adapted for various tasks in the wild!
Check out the fun learning moments below!
