In honor of National School Social Work Week, let us take a moment to recognize and celebrate the incredible work done by our school social worker, Ms. Amy Morgan. The theme this year, "Unite to Ignite: Celebrating Our Impact," truly reflects the powerful and lasting influence she has on our school community.
Ms. Amy's dedication, compassion, and unwavering support make a significant difference in the lives of our students and families. Her efforts help ignite positive change and foster an environment where everyone feels supported and valued.
So, Ms. Amy, THANK YOU for all that you do, and for being such an essential part of our school. We appreciate you!

Deadline is April 1, 2025 for 2025-2026 Student Transfer Requests
Student transfer requests for the upcoming school year will be accepted until April 1, 2025.
Notification regarding requests will be sent in mid to late June. Transfer requests with incomplete mailing addresses will NOT be mailed and will result in a significant delay in notification. (We ask that you not call to confirm receipt of online transfers.)
Students granted a transfer and fail to enroll in a timely manner, or withdraw from the school will have their approval revoked. Any transfer that is approved based upon false or misleading information will be declared void, and the transfer will be rescinded. Student transfers can be denied for the following reasons: 1) admission of the student would cause overcrowding of classes; 2) admission of the student would cause the school to hire additional personnel; 3) the student's prior attendance record; 4) the student's prior conduct record; and 5) other lawful reasons determined by the principal.
For multiple students/siblings: a separate application form must be submitted for each student requesting a transfer. All requests will be considered individually. There is no automatic approval of transfer requests for siblings. There is also no guarantee that requests for multiple siblings will be approved at the same time.

🌳🌞 PBIS Field Trip to Lumber River State Park! 🚶♀️🍃
Our 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade students had an amazing time exploring Lumber River State Park in Orrum as part of our PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) field trip! 🎉✨
Through PBIS, students earn points for exhibiting positive behaviors, and those who reached their goal were rewarded with this incredible outdoor adventure. They had the opportunity to learn from the knowledgeable staff at Lumber River State Park, who used an outdoor science approach to engage and inspire our students. 🌍🔬
A big thank you to the Lumber River State Park staff for making this experience both educational and fun! We’re so proud of our students for earning this well-deserved reward and for demonstrating such positive behavior! 👏🎒

🌟🎨 Celebrating Black History Month in Ms. Bobbie Cummings' Third Grade Class! ✨📚
This month, our incredible third graders in Ms. Cummings' class have been hard at work on a truly unique project for Black History Month! Each student researched a significant African American historical or contemporary figure and then brought that person to life in a creative and fun way. Using potatoes and a variety of recycled materials, they crafted "Biographical Potato Heads" and wrote detailed biographies about their figures. 🥔✨
Not only did this project encourage creativity, but it also helped the students develop their research skills and writing abilities while learning about important individuals who have made a lasting impact on history. 🌍💡
We're so proud of their hard work and the thoughtful representations they've created! Check out a few of their amazing Potato Head projects below! 👏🙌

🟥 Wear Red for Ray Day – Tomorrow! 🟥
Tomorrow, we will be showing our support for Ray Scott, a valued member of our Union Chapel School community who is facing health challenges. Ray has been a steadfast supporter of our school and community, and now it’s our turn to stand by him.
Since we couldn’t wear red today because it was school picture day, we’ll be doing it tomorrow instead! ✨
Wear red tomorrow to honor Ray and show him that we’re thinking of him during this time. Let’s come together as a school community and spread some love and encouragement for Ray. We know how much he means to all of us!
