1. Retirement Honor: Mrs. Pattie Mitchell
Mitchell was celebrated for over 40 years of service to PSRC. The meeting marked her last PSRC Board of Education Meeting as Executive Assistant to the Superintendent and PSRC Board of Education. Board members and staff shared personal tributes to her dedication, humor and deep institutional knowledge. A standing ovation concluded the heartfelt farewell.
2. Driven 2 Excel Campaign Partners Recognized

Lumberton Honda – For donating vehicles to reward high-achieving seniors.
Beasley Media Group – For multi-year promotional support.
Piedmont Natural Gas – For funding scholarships for seniors.
To qualify for the event, PSRC high school seniors must maintain a grade point average of 3.2 or higher and have no more than five unexcused absences during the school year. This campaign is designed not only to reward academic achievement, but also to reinforce the importance of consistency, focus, and personal responsibility throughout the year. The event features scholarship opportunities and culminates in an exciting drawing where one deserving student will win a brand-new car. What an incredible incentive to stay on track and strive for success!
3. Community Collaboration Recognition

UNC Health Southeastern & Outback Steakhouse – For partnering to provide over 1,200 sports physicals and meals during the district’s first unified sports physical day.

Continuing Resolution to operate under 2024–2025 budget levels until the new state budget is passed.
