📋 PSRC Board Meeting Highlights | June 9, 2026
The Public Schools of Robeson County Board of Education met on Tuesday, June 9, and celebrated student success, educator excellence and important initiatives shaping the future of our district.
⭐ Highlights include:
🎓 Honored Educator Scholarship Established
The Board was recognized for establishing the PSRC Honored Educator Scholarship in partnership with NCCAT, creating a lasting investment in professional development for PSRC teachers.
🚗 Driven 2 Excel Partners Recognized
A special thank you was extended to Beasley Media Group and Lumberton Honda for their continued partnership in the Driven 2 Excel program, which rewards outstanding seniors for academic achievement and attendance.
🏆 Year in Sports Celebration
The Board celebrated the incredible accomplishments of our student-athletes, coaches and teams across Robeson County. District leaders also shared that graduating student-athletes have earned an estimated $450,000 in scholarship awards to continue their education and athletic careers.
☀️ Summer Learning Opportunities
Board members received an overview of the many summer programs available to students, including Read to Achieve, Career & Technical Education camps, multilingual learner programs, credit recovery, migrant education and more.
📚 Federal Programs Update
District staff presented the annual Title I and federal programs overview, highlighting how funding supports academic achievement, teacher development, multilingual learners, technology and services for students and families across the district.

Also approved were the following new principal assignments effective July 1, 2026:
📘 Fairmont Middle School – Dr. Isabel McClain
📘 Littlefield Middle School – Talissa Fann
📘 Southside-Ashpole Elementary – Tawanna Curry
📘 St. Pauls Middle School – Lakeshia Revels
📘 Townsend Elementary School – Gwendolyn Rogers
📘 Union Chapel Elementary School – Billy Haggans
